Racing Pigeons

  This section of the website is Dedicated to my father, Julius Mazzurco who passed away way to young. It was with his wisdom and competitivness that racing homing pigeons became such a part of my life.

My name is Sal Mazzurco and my beginnings with racing pigeons started when I was in grade school with my father. He had New York Flying Flights for many years before the racing bug got a hold of him. Well, actually it wasnt so much the bug but a fellow fancier that led him to pursue and take great pleasure in racing and competing at a high level in the Maspeth Homing Pigeon Club.

  He loved his pigeons as much as anything besides his family. I saw this first hand as many days and nights were spent just sitting on the rooftop with him talking about the days events. He loved the relaxation of feeding and singing to the birds. If it wasn't for him I would not be so influenced by these creatures as I am today.

  Now, today, my wife Jennifer and I along with our kids Tabitha and Julius are enjoying the appeal of racing pigeons together.

We are members of the Marion County Homing Pigeon Club, North Marion County Combine and Florida Federation.
